There are various ways of getting involved with the Etruria Industrial Museum

Volunteers Receiving an English Heritage Angel Award 2012Opportunities are available in engineering, events organisation, catering and administration. There are two main groups operating from the Museum.

Shirley’s Bone and Flint Mill Volunteers

Events, Tea Room, Front of House, Visitors Centre, Administration, Engine, Boiler, Mill:

This is a registered charity who restore, maintinance and operate the mill and steam engine, the run the visitors centre and tea room. They also organise various events through the year, conduct tours, give lectures and are involved in outreach work in the community. They meet at the Museum every Thursday evening between 7.15pm and 9.15pm to plan and carry out work in teams.

At present we are looking for people with free time to help with warming the boiler before each of the 5 steaming weekends and others to help in the tea room and front of house during the weekends.

Etruria Boat Group Volunteers

They restore and operate canal boats and at present are restoring two historic boats Lindsey and Keppel. If you wish to become involved please contact:
