There are various ways of getting involved with the Etruria Industrial Museum

Become a Volunteer

Opportunities are available in engineering, events organisation, catering and administration. There are two main groups operating from the Museum.

Shirley’s Bone and Flint Mill Volunteers

Events, Tea Room, Front of House, Visitors Centre, Administration, Engine, Boiler, Mill:

This is a registered charity who restore, maintain and operate the mill and steam engine, and run the visitors centre and tea room. They also organise various events through the year, conduct tours, give lectures and are involved in outreach work in the community. The mill group meets at the Museum every Thursday evening between 7.15pm and 9.15pm and the site group between 10.00am and 3.00pm every Friday to plan and carry out work in teams.

At present we are looking for people with free time to help with warming the boiler before each of the 5 steaming weekends and others to help in the tea room and front of house during the weekends.
